How to use QR codes for IBAN payments in Bahrain.

A printed QR code on your counter lets customers pay directly to your business bank account - no terminal, no monthly fees. Here is how to set it up and how it works for customers.

01

For business owners

1

Get access and generate your QR code

Get access to our IBAN QR Generator, enter your 22-character Bahrain IBAN and your business name, and download the print-ready file. The generator produces a high-resolution QR code - clear at any print size, ready for counter stands, receipts, or window stickers.

2

Print and display it

Print the QR code and put it where customers pay. Good placements:

  • The cash counter
  • Your storefront window
  • Receipts and invoices
  • Business cards and flyers
NotePrint at a minimum of 5 cm by 5 cm on a counter stand. Smaller than that and older phones will struggle to scan in dim lighting.
3

Test before going live

Scan the printed code yourself, make a 1 BHD test transfer to your own account, and confirm the money arrives. Check:

  • Payment arrives in your business account
  • Code scans in your actual counter lighting
  • Test on both iPhone and Android if possible

For customers paying by QR

1

Open your banking app

Use your bank's official mobile app or BenefitPay. All major Bahrain banks support IBAN QR payments: BBK, NBB, ABC Bank, Gulf International Bank, and others. Tap also works.

2

Scan the QR code

Find the "Scan QR" or "QR Payment" option in your app and point your camera at the code on the counter. The business name and IBAN fill in automatically - no typing needed.

3

Enter the amount and confirm

Type the payment amount, add a reference if needed, and confirm. The transfer settles immediately with a confirmation on your screen and a notification to the business.
